Radioactivity in samples of scrap iron and meltage

In the case of scrap iron samples and meltage samples there is measured only the radioactive cobalt (Co60) concentration. According to regulation No.307/2002, specific concentration wouldn't exceed 300 Bq/kg. But customers often require more severe criteria for importers.
For the measurement we need sample in optimal case cylinder-shaped with diameter of 35mm and height of 30mm. If you have completed product or component, it's possible to do measurement of cuts and sawdust. Basic price is 800 Kč per sample (+19% VAT), if you supply more samples, we can agree on the contracting price.
We are doing this measurement with gammaspectrometer verified by Czech metrological institute in Prag.

Main source of undesirable radioactive alloy in meltage is the scrap iron. Majority of smelting works has detectors on entrances that are able to detect contaminated wagon or truck. If it happens, we are able to find and identify concrete source, component, which is responsible for higher radioactivity. We have needed portable meters.
